Artist Statement

Trash Bear Studio is named after my French Bulldog Charlie, a notoriously crafty and creative hunter of trashed, anything that could be and maybe not be eaten items.

I have transitioned to using handmade paints that are derived from natural processes, with extensive, ongoing research into pigment making and binder creation. I use recycled, scavenged, or responsibly manufactured surfaces as canvases.

My goal is to create accessible, enjoyable work that stimulates empathy for the natural world, while respecting nature through the creation process itself.
